The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) envisions all children and adults as self-aware, caring, responsible, engaged, and lifelong learners who work together to achieve their goals and create a more inclusive, just world. Sabrina has partnered with CASEL in their transformative social and emotional learning (tSEL) efforts for five years as a member of both their Collaborating District and State Initiatives and continues to serve as a mentor for their SEL Fellows Academy.

Transformative SEL Supports Community Members:

  • To clarify their equitable whole person vision

  • To develop short-and-long term goals

  • To navigate roadblocks to those goals and continuously improve

Transformative SEL

Transformative social and emotional learning (tSEL) cultivates our moment to moment humanity, our ways of being with each other through our nervous systems. Flexibly engaging with the five interrelated competencies and focal constructs through a systems lens deeply impacts the climate of schools and community organizations. Sabrina has extensive experience guiding this systems work through her collaborations as a district SEL facilitator and SEL specialist with the Minnesota Department of Education.
